The representation of women and people of color in corporate boardrooms and executive ranks within many Fortune 1000 companies does not mirror the demographics of our country. Pervasive exclusionary corporate practices show that efforts to diversify corporate America are not yet complete.
The 100,000 Voices Campaign is an effort of the Birmingham Initiative to create change within major corporations that lack diversity within their boardroom and executive ranks. We intend to collect 100,000 letters by March of 2014 stressing the importance of diverse corporate leadership for future business success. We will distribute these letters to Fortune 1000 companies that show lack of commitment to reflecting our nation’s diversity.
